Med Ad News to Host Virtual Career Fair for Healthcare Communications Industry

NEWTOWN, Pa., Sept. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Med Ad News, the trusted source of pharmaceutical business and marketing news, announces it will host its first-ever virtual career fair tailored to the healthcare communications industry from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 12.

The $500 billion pharmaceutical industry spends nearly $30 billion annually on marketing for drugs, and leading healthcare communications agencies, like those featured in Med Ad News, are charged with marketing those products. These agencies are currently searching for new talent from a variety of disciplines to add to their teams in places like New York, Philadelphia, and Chicago.

The Med Ad News Virtual Career Fair will connect pharma marketing professionals and motivated candidates – ranging from entry level to experienced specialists – with employers who are actively recruiting team members.

The new live event is being presented by the editors and publishers of one of the industry's most respected magazines and will provide attendees with access from the convenience of their own computers.

"With pharmaceutical ad agencies and brand organizations always on the prowl for talent, and so many candidates seeking opportunities in marketing, we thought it'd be a good idea to use technology to bring everyone together in one virtual space," said Chris Truelove, Editor in Chief of Med Ad News. "Whether for an experienced industry professional or a young person right out of college, this is a great way to simplify the search process."

Participants will be able to chat in real time with reps from leading ad agencies and marketing services companies, network and increase their employment prospects, view jobs online and receive an employer directory at the event, and upload and share their resumes and portfolios.

The virtual career fair provides an online environment that allows companies to share information, post career opportunities, and interact with job candidates via chat and in-show email. Attendees can apply to jobs and meet with recruiters or hiring managers.

Interactive spaces within the virtual career fair include exhibit halls with sponsor booths, an auditorium for featured conference sessions, resource libraries, and a networking lounge.

Registration is free. For more information or to become a sponsor, contact Dan Becker at daniel.becker@ubm.com or call (973)-808-1191.
