Physician Careers in Consulting (MD/MBA 8th AMMP Conference)

Are you interested in a consulting career?

Here's a video of a presentation given by Dr. Lisa Bard Levine at the 8th Annual AMMP conference titled, "Consulting for the MD/MBA." I blogged about her presentation (here) back in April when I was in Boston attending the Association of MD/MBA Programs (AMMP) 8th Annual Conference. Now, you can view a video of her presentation and slides here (you'll need Microsoft Silverlight to play the video).

Here's a brief description:

Lisa Bard Levine, MD, MBA
Associate Director, Healthcare
Navigant Consulting, Inc.

Lisa Bard Levine, MD, MBA, is an Associate Director in the Healthcare Practice at Navigant Consulting, Inc. in Needham, MA. She works with leading US healthcare organizations on physician–hospital alignment, performance excellence and clinical service line development. Her consulting work focuses on financial, operational, and strategic healthcare redesign initiatives that improve quality and safety of patient care. Much of her work recently has been oriented around the Accountable Care Organization and the patient-centered medical home model of primary care. Dr. Levine’s career has also concentrated on mentoring emerging physician leaders. Prior to her position at Navigant Consulting, Inc., Dr. Levine was a senior consultant at The Bard Group and before that, with the Mount Sinai Medical School under the Director of Business Strategy, and APM/CSC Healthcare in New York. Dr. Levine graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where she studied healthcare management. She received her MD and MBA from Tufts University and completed her internship at Newton Wellesley Hospital. After initiating her residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Levine chose to return to her primary interest in the business and management side of healthcare and returned to her consulting career.
