Why do some students choose to go to medical school if they don't end up practicing medicine? Did they know that they weren't going to practice? Were they "forced" or pressured by parents to go to medical school? Did they feel like it was their obligation to become a doctor?
I meet many medical students who tell me that they wish they could go back in time and pursue a different career. They have no interest in residency. They don't wish to practice medicine, yet they feel "stuck" because they have tremendous student loans and other financial obligations. Fortunately, there are many options for people who find themselves in these types of situations. My hope is that this site will be a useful resource for those who wish to venture into the non-clinical world of medicine to find a suitable career that they will enjoy.
