Specific Responsibilities: 

Minimum requirements:
- advanced scientific degree
- previous MSL experience
- currently resides within the region

Essential Duties and Job Functions: 
• Disseminate scientific support on products and disease states (Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and Cystic Fibrosis) in academic medical facilities and independent pulmonary hypertension/cystic fibrosis centers consistent with corporate clinical and business objectives.
• Establish and maintain ongoing professional relationships with key healthcare though leaders within assigned geography
• Identify appropriate investigators and facilitate the development of study proposals and/or placement into Gilead sponsored trials, including phase IIIb /IV studies in a variety of areas including outcomes, efficacy, etc.; participate as appropriate in Expanded Access Programs
• Collaborate with Commercial Organization to interact with key opinion leaders aligned with corporate clinical, business and compliance directives.
• Provide scientific support at advisory boards, regional educational programs, conferences and other external meetings
• Attend and support scientific/professional meetings/conferences consistent with areas of therapeutic responsibility
• Continually monitor the market to maintain and expand expertise in disease state management and new therapies, competitive products and future market/medical trends.
• Establish and maintain relationships with thought leaders who are engaged in speaking on behalf of the company



Knowledge, Experience and Skills: 
• Advanced degrees (M.D., D.O., Pharm.D., Ph.D are preferred, certified N.P., P.A. considered) with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry (cardiology, pulmonary experience preferred, infectious disease considered)
• 2 to 4 years experience in clinical /research arena
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills (including ability to network)
• Excellent project management ability
• Thorough knowledge of pulmonary arterial hypertension and cystic fibrosis preferred
• Excellent judgment and initiative are required
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook) is required
• Must have knowledge of and be willing to comply with all regulatory/compliance policies consistent with position
• Must have and be able to maintain a current professional licensure consistent with degree in state of residence
• Ability to travel (30-60 % amount of overnight travel dependent on assignment)
