A New Perspective on Physician Retirement

Raymond W. Pong, PhD from the Centre for Rural and Northern Health Research, Laurentian University wrote a paper titled, "Putting Away the Stethoscope for Good? Toward a New Perspective on Physician Retirement." Published by the Canadian Institute for Health Information, this study is an attempt to understand how aging affects physicians’ work, including staying in or leaving clinical practice, and the impact of this on health workforce planning. Although its geographic focus is Canada, there are some interesting pearls that are also very relevant for those working in the USA. You can read the article here.
