Traveling to Phoenix for the Annual ASCP Conference

I'm on my way back to Phoenix (I was just there last week) and this time I'm going to Arizona for the ASCP (American Society of Consultant Pharmacists) Annual Conference. Our education company, MCM, is involved with a number of different educational activities at this conference. This year, we've developed a few symposia and workshops to educate senior care pharmacists about topics like pain management, MRSA, overactive bladder, stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation, and Alzheimer's disease.

In case you were wondering, ASCP is also the acronym for the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Speaking of pathology - this is a popular specialty among medical students who have a strong interest in non-clinical career options. Pathology is clinical, but it doesn't have to involve direct patient care (depends on the type of pathology). At most, you may be involved with performing a biopsy or some other type of diagnostic test.

This fall, my travel schedule has been very busy. Next month, I'm traveling to San Diego for the American Society of Hematology (ASH) conference. Then, it will be nice to take a break from work-related travel.
