Wendy Frieling, MD, MMM, is an expert in translating clinical processes and the policies that govern healthcare into tangible business results. She has twenty years of experience practicing medicine in the outpatient and inpatient settings and continues to see patients one day a week. Dr. Frieling has served in the community hospital setting as Vice President for Medical Affairs, Chief Medical Information Officer and Chief Information Officer, Vice President for Information Technology. She has served as Medical Director for Child Advocacy Centers and Technology startup companies and has extensive experience working with technology teams to translate clinical workflows into electronic records. She has spearheaded efforts to create clinical documentation improvement programs and has worked with medical staffs to help them understand how their everyday clinical work is captured as quality data for reporting purposes and as financial data for reimbursement purposes.

In the era of increasing awareness of the importance of quality and safety in medicine while reimbursement for services is crucial for hospitals, it is imperative that the C-suite and physicians understand each other and create processes that benefit physicians, health care systems and most importantly, patients. Dr. Frieling compliments the team at PHNS as they assist our clients in bringing IT and business solutions into the clinical setting. Dr. Frieling earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemisty from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey - New Brunswick. She completed her Masters degree in Medical Management at Carnegie Mellon University in 2009.
