5 key innovation skills

Monday, February 22, 2010

There's a great article in Harvard Business Review titled, "The Innovator's DNA." How are innovators wired? How do they think? They're constantly asking questions and exploring new options.

The authors of this article highlight 5 key innovation skills that are acquired and honed by innovative entrepreneurs. There's what they are:
  1. Associating
  2. Questioning
  3. Observing
  4. Experimenting
  5. Networking
The article ends with this challenge: Try spending 15 to 30 minutes each day writing down questions that challenge the status quo in your company.

Perhaps you need to be innovative in your organization. Maybe you need to be innovative to find a new job or to make a career transition. Are you willing to take some risks to make change happen? Have you been asking the right types of questions?
